 | Tendril works with a number of organisations and collectives to produce a range of creative festival happenings including:
Working within the Reef Knot collective (an emanation from some of the founding directors of Knot Gallery) Tendril co-produced 'Zen & The Art of Train Riding' in the expansive CarriageWorks foyer. Evolving over the course of the two week Public Arts Lab, this 100 square metre / 13 tonne audio-visual installation combined the language and detritus of the rail network with the spirit of Zen Buddhism. A veritable oasis of tranquility on Festival day, the installation featured the creative wonder of Alasdair Nicol, Michelle McCosker, Kate Burns, Mersades Malone, Dan Conway and Cigdem Aydemir.
Working with Sydney-based artists, Sharnie Shield, Robert Hawkins, Kate Burns, Emma Rutherford & Dan Simon, Tendril produced the Rail Car Sculptures project. With a focus on recycled and re-used materials, these large scale installations evolved gradually with artists working over the course of the Festival.
Following on from last year's 'Super Tent',
Tendril collaborated again with Knot Gallery, The Frequency Lab and
Token Imagination to present the hugely successful 'Hills Hoist'. Featuring a full spectrum of music and performance, the stage was set amidst a sculpture garden, hand-crafted decor and live visuals. Rounding out the precinct were culinary delights from Peats Fridge and tasty art objects & wearables from The Uniform Order. For full details click here.
Tendril co-ordinated the painting and installation of 64 mural boards that were displayed on the Festival's perimeter fencing. Featuring work from local schools, day care centres and artists, the panels provided the perfect entrance for the festival's 60,000 attendees.
In association with Knot Gallery, Tendril produced an 11m long mural wall showcasing the creativity of over 40 Sydney-based artists. Installed under the giant fig trees of Prince Alfred Park, The Giant Mural Wall attracted a consistently large crowd of mesmerised onlookers.
In association with The Frequency Lab & Token Imagination, Tendril produced six festival slots over the three days. The Bard’s Breakfast featured the word-based wonder of around 15 local and overseas spoken word artists. The Frequency Lab Sessions presented shows from Unkle Ho (The Herd), Cooknkitch & Monk Fly, Showa 44, Sarah Mae and MC Zoe Zee.
In association with Knot Gallery, The Frequency Lab & Token Imagination, Tendril produced three days and nights of non-stop, cross-disciplinary creative offerings featuring artist talks, a sculpture garden, drawing workshops, spoken word and story-telling, as well as live performances from Tommee and Mr Bamboo, and DJ sets from Monk Fly, Settle Down Sound System, DJ Patto and more.

In
association with Knot Gallery, Tendril has assisted in the production
and curation of over 100 exhibitions featuring the work of artists
